The space under your bed can be put to sensible use with bins made by attaching casters to a wooden box, a drawer from a chest, or a wine crate.
How to Make a Closet on Wheels:
To determine how high your box should be, measure from bed frame to floor, and subtract 1 1/2 inches (for clearance) plus the height of the casters. You will need one box (painted, if desired); four casters with mounting screws; a 12-inch-long piece of 1-inch-wide cotton-twill tape; and two upholstery tacks. If the bottom of the drawer or box you're using is thin, reinforce the corners with triangles of thin wood attached with wood glue before mounting the casters. Drill holes for casters with a bit slightly smaller than the screws, and screw casters in place. To make a pull handle, fold the twill tape into a loop with cut ends together, then fold raw edges over twice by 3/4 inch. Place folded ends inside box at center front, 1 inch below top. Hammer tacks through folded tape.
